Does anyone know how many cents will be made this year? Any rough idea? Since there will be four different designs, do you think they will be hard to get, or will there still be billions?

The Type 1 numbers are in:

http://usmint.gov/about_the_mint/co...09#starthere

634,800,000 give or take a few million! That's almost 13 million 50 coin rolls! Should be enough to go around once they get flowing.

I thought I heard that the type 1 rolls were selling for like $8. I thought there may not have been that many made. Are they selling that high? I guess if you want to get them early...

Texas collector....
They're $8.95 per two roll P & D Set from the Mint. (plus shipping)
They're selling for $80.00 - $100.00 on ebay for these "two roll Sets"
Very Very few people can get them from their banks in bank wrapped rolls (which are the same coins as these two roll sets but without the official U.S. Mint wrapper) So, many, like me, have only one way to acquire them.....and that's purchasing them directily from the Mint.
As you may or may not know however, these have been "sold out" at the Mint for some time now.

BadThad posted the mintage numbers already in a past post for the Philly '09 Lincoln.
Here's a copy of his post.....hope that's okay BadThad !....

That's right, you guys just keep dissing the 2009 T1 coins. Let me tell you, the scarcity has already been created and established. If you think you'll be able to walk into a bank ANY time, days, months, years from now and get "free" 2009 T1 P/D rolls, you're dead wrong. If you think, yea, I'll just buy them on ebay or from a dealer or wherever for $1 roll someday in the future....you're dead wrong again.

Let me point something out for the hundredth time: Only 194.4 million P mint T1 coins were made, that's the lowest mintage since the 1955-S Lincoln and UNREAL low for a modern cent coin. The collector/hoarder demand ALONE has inhaled any coins released thus far. THE MINT WILL MAKE NO MORE 2009 P/D TYPE ONE COINS EVER AGAIN! They have to focus on making the next three type coins they are obligated to produce by law.

The value of the T1 coins WILL ONLY RISE in value from here on! It's called supply and demand. So, go ahead and keep living your pipe dream that there will be billions of T1 coins and you'll see them in the "bottom of fountains" and by the "box full at the bank".....IT IS NOT GOING TO EVER HAPPEN. Face it, if you want them, the longer you wait, the more you're going to have to pay the piper.

Yes they could have. Those production figures are for the 1st quarter only. I guess they could strike a mix of '09s at any time of the year, but I assumed they would go in sequence with the 1st quarter being used to strike Type 1 only.

If we end the year at 2.6 billion (650 million per quarter) struck, it would be logical that the mix of Types 1, 2, 3 & 4 would 1/4 of each type.

2.6 Billion would still be the least amount (I assume 2.6 bil. is for Philly only) since 1971. PLUS that number will be split for the different designs. If all of this is true, it may be hard to find any certain 09 design from any certain mint in good condition a few years from now.
