Hello, I have this very nice detailed penny that looks like its too high upon the obverse and wondering if that is an offset. And I believe it has a small Cud or die crack touching the bottom of the first 9 in the date.
The penny looks to have some light friction on the beard and cheek and a few of the letters on the obverse could be a DD and/or some deterioration mixed in with it. The reverse looks in really good shape as the wheat don't look to have any wear to them. Would this be a good candidate to send in and get appraised? I know its not the S mint but just wondering if its worth having a third party look at it and maybe grade it as well as noting the errors if any. Thanks

I'd be real careful on that one getting a details grade for questionable color/cleaned - retoning. It may not be but just sayin'. I'm sure someone else will chime in with more info on the grading.

I don't think it's a DDO, but I could be wrong. I do see what you pointed out, with the arrows. Not seeing a Cud or a Die Crack. Not worth sending it to a TPG.

I am not seeing a DDO on your Lincoln Cent
Cuds always include the rim.
Not worth sending in,but if you feel the need to use ANACS,they cost the least.

This is not worth it to send in for grading.

The only known DDOs are on the word Liberty and the date, and both have a distinct look when one looks at the coin. We here on the website in the search bar have a few posted up, myself included.

The linear mark on the L on Liberty is probably a scratch sometime post mint. These cents were also well struck as a general rule for the 1910 decade. with you on light rub on the high points so yes, AU-58 should be an estimated grade point.

Sorry, I'm not seeing the '09 DDO on this coin. It is in nice condition, but some of that you indicated could be minor circulation hits.

That is a very nice coin, no errors seen but one to put in a coin book. If you slab it, you may be limited to what you can do with it, not to mention the cost.

There are only 2 DDOs for 09, this is nowhere close to either. https://www.coppercoins.com/advsearch.php
