It's a large blemish running from just behind Washington's ear to the IGWT phrase on the obverse. It looks like a lamination peel but I'm wondering if it might be a strikethrough. Laminations are usually found on coins with a single alloy, such as copper (bronze) cents and silver alloy coins with an improper mix of the metals in the alloy. I think the cupronickel layer of a clad coin could have a lamination, but it would be shallow and limited to the thickness of the clad layer. (Can anyone back me up on this?
