First of all, I would like to figure out what type of error this coin has. It's a large blemish running from just behind Washington's ear to the IGWT phrase on the obverse. It looks like a lamination peel but I'm wondering if it might be a strikethrough. Secondly, I'd like some help grading this coin.

Looks like a nice strike through. Laminations are usually found on coins with a single alloy, such as copper (bronze) cents and silver alloy coins with an improper mix of the metals in the alloy. I think the cupronickel layer of a clad coin could have a lamination, but it would be shallow and limited to the thickness of the clad layer. (Can anyone back me up on this? I could be totally wrong on this one.)

ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

I'm thinking strike-through, given the pics posted.

Agree - strike-through. XF/AU grade - circulated for sure.

That's my thinking also. Struck through something, don't think it was grease.

Right, not Struck Through Grease. Struck through something that left the impression.
