Greetings all,

Newbie here. So I have been a coin collector since my Dad and I did this when I was a kid. I have continued to do it, but I have 3 kids of my own now (so have not had time). Two of them are now in college, so I have some time... but now no money.

With that background, I have been buying all the mint sets and such from the US Mint (on subscription) over the years, but haven't put anything into my albums. Literally, I have a box of boxes from the US Mint of all the mail I got from the US Mint since 2012. Whenever I get something it goes right into that box, and is promptly forgotten about.

So, now that I have some time, my OCD is compelling me to put these all into my albums (I use Dansco). My problem is that I the Dansco albums for Modern Commemorative Coins (Dollars and halves) and Silver Eagles aren't to my level of OCD (it doesn't have the reverse proof ASEs... and don't get me started on the modern commemorative albums. Admittedly the later Dansco can't predict so there is some forgiveness there.

So, my solution is blank pages and a labeler. My problem is that I don't have and can't find a definitive list of all (and I mean ALL) varieties of ASE and Commemorative coins. I don't need all the many iterations of errors, but I am looking for a list of what was officially produced by the US mint (all mint marks... business, proof, and reverse proof strike... those colored ones they did in 2022 for Basketball and the Purple Heart... privy marks... etc).

I can't just go by what I have, because I seem to have missed some. I found the following two things from the mint:
* https://www.usmint.gov/learn/coin-a...rative-coins
* https://www.usmint.gov/news/image-l...mmemoratives
But neither give an actual coin list.

Every other online source I have found, I note is missing at least one coin that I have (so I know it is not definitive, and because of that I don't know if it is missing others I don't have).

Does anyone know of a list of Silver Eagle varieties, Modern Dollar Commims and half dollar commims that is an exhaustive list?

Thank you in advance for your help

A good place to start is getting a current edition of the RedBook (I'm actually quite fond of the MegaRed version and the additional info it contains, and I buy it every year). It includes a fairly comprehensive list of all the modern commemorative and bullion issues.

@hokiefan_82 - great idea! I am not sure why I didn't think of that. I have an old RedBook from before I had kids and recall using that to come up with my "search for lists" in the past. I just ordered the 2025 one, that is coming out early in April.

Thanks!

You got me with the OCD Comment in your post - I too have that issue. (Just look at how I did my non-proof ASE collection in Dansco albums (and yes, it is inclusive if you need a quick list) My quarter Dansco albums are extremely OCD'd (have a look at my Dansco links in my signature below. As for a complete list of the ASE's I think I still have a blank copy I use for dissemination to others. We just need to get you up to 50 posts so I can email it to you (if you want).

@Dearborn - I would love to get that list of ASEs. I don't see your signature though (actually, I don't see anyone's signature... so perhaps this is a "me" problem). If you want to send it to ... d colpi at yahoo, I would appreciate it (no punctuation or spaces, and it ends in com). Thanks so much!

Well here are a few links of my Dansco albums:
(not sure why you cannot see my signature line below my posts)

I'll send that file when I get home - in the meantime, you should edit your post and remove your address from public view.
