i got this coin on ebay, says its a mint error but now that I look at it it looks like a scratch.

could this be an error?

Looks like a scratch because of the pushed metal.

Can't really tell what that is for certain but it could be a scratch. On that particular coin, even if it was a strike-through, I think that may make the coin less desirable if you ever need to sell. If it is a scratch then that is even worse - I would send it back.

That's a shame. I love this design. Looks like a scratch to me as well. Almost like someone was trying to open the capsule with a metal object and slipped across the coin. On the right side of the coin near the edge, is where it possibly started or ended.

It is a damaged coin.as mentioned above, it is a scratch.
