hello,
does anyone have, or know of, an 1872 Canada 25 cent piece with an inverted V (in Victoria) so that it reads Aictoria? it is hard to detect and looks exactly like the same variety in the 1872 50 cent piece. any info would be appriciated
thanks

I've looked in a number of my hard copy resources, and I can't find anything on this 25 cent. I am seeing a notation about the 1872 50 cent peice for that year, and it mentions there is a cross bar running horizontal through the V in Victoria, but its not inverted. It just looks like an upside down A.

Yes, you are right. I have the 50 cent piece 2 times. But there is a 25 also. would love to find it. it is exactly as the 50 cent piece.

As far as I know, the only 25c "A/V" is the result of a plugged letter or a die break. And its possible the die break evolved into the plugged letter. There are very few of them know, making them hard to find.
