Poll Question
There are fifteen Canadian coins listed below all with an equal value of $1,200.00 / coin as per the latest Canadian Coin News Trend$ Price Guide. They are all I.C.C.S. slabbed with no negative comments on the Certificate. You cannot view the coins, however, you must select only one for your collection sight unseen. Pick one of the fifteen and tell me why You made the choice? Glenn Pinto

That's tough ... they're all great. But since I love red, high grade copper I guess my choice would be - 1933, Red, Small Cent, MS-65.

The 20 cents - because it's an odd denomination and I'll always go for that

I collect 25 cents primarily,I would like the 1888 but it would look out of place in my collection of VF-EF,the 1906 I already have and $1200 won't get the 1905 I need,so I chose the 1858,a coin that could stand alone with the 25 cents, and one of my favorites.

The 1858 coin - odd denomination, oldest coin.

If I had to choose...I'd probably go by mintage. Haven't checked them all. As Glenzy has discussed, lower mintages have better potential.

I've got to pick the 1948 Silver Dollar, as I own a MS-62 1948 Half Dollar, but I do not own a 48 Silver Dollar, and I neeeeeed one, really I do. ~ Jim

Better than this one? Why I'd love one. My vote. Since nobody else took it.

I'd pick the 20 cent. They are in short supply in higher grades. I'd be tempted to go for an AU-55 over a MS-60 though, as it will probably look better. Second choice would be the 1948 dollar, simply because it's an icon. With all the '48s out there though, an EF/AU example would be nicer to own.

I'd never spend $1200 on a coin I couldn't see first, no matter whose slab it was in.
But then, I've yet to spend $1200 on a single coin I could see, either.
So, since we're being entirely hypothetical, I'll go for the "1888 half dollar"... because I don't have any Canadian 50¢ of that design. I'd have voted for the 20¢ too, but I've already got one (though of course, not in that high a grade).

I voted for the 1936 50c coin. I like the 50 cent pieces and that would be the nicest King George V coin in my collection. Although right now the nicest one I have now is only VF30.
