What is this on the obverse? It looks like a strikethrough. Edited by sickpuppy78501 03/30/2024 5:49 pm

I guess this could been done by heating one arm of a pair of pliers. Could that be what happened here?

Don't see the zinc core like I would have thought. If this was heat would think you would see the evidence on the reverse which I don't . I do see abnormal rim on the reverse in this area. But no answer from me will wait for the experts.

Nice!
A partial indent error. It would have been a planchet or struck coin that was just overlapping this coin when it was struck. Look closely at the area of missing detail to see if it possibly shows any evidence of a Brockage.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

It's a partial brockage error. You can make out some incuse, mirror-image letters in the floor of the indentation.

Perhaps a fracture in the blank caused it to break off when the die was struck? Merely an amateur opinion. Looks like a clean break, alot of p.s.i on a small area.
