Inspired by @austrokiwi's post from a few years back http://goccf.com/t/334377), I picked up one of these Testones. It isn't in anywhere near as good condition as that other one, but I really like the portrait so I scooped up this nice puck of silver from SARC. Most of the pertinent info about these Testones is covered in that earlier thread, but I would add that the issuer (Galeazzo Maria Sforza) was not a very admirable man. His wikipedia page has some of the less lurid details:

For inscriptions, there is GALEAZ M SF VICECOS DVX MLI QIT on the obverse and PP ANGLE - Q3 - CO AC IANVE D / G3 / M on the reverse. I have attributed it as Biaggi 1548.

The issue was ahead of its time. The portrait and lettering are deceptive.

It's a beautiful coin.
