I found what I believe to be a 1982 D small date penny. I don't even know where to go from here if I am indeed correct. Please give me suggestions. *** Moved by Staff moved to a more appropriate forum. ***

for these coins - it is imperative that an accurate weight is measured (and hopefully provided here for us to see) But yes, it is a Denver cent, and it is a 1982 small date coin. But does it weigh 2.5 grams or 3.11 grams? (I'm betting on 2.5g)

To CCF! You'll need to weigh it. I betting that it's zinc most likely.

This will be my third time, hoping this post sticks. It is indeed 2.5, is there any value?

If it's 2.5 grams, it's only worth face value.

CursiveTea, I moved your thread to the proper section. The 1982-D small date (copper) is the one you need to find. It weights 3.1 grams +/- .10 grams mint tolerance. Good luck with your hunting. John1

@CursiveTea Not much chance at 3.1 gm (copper), but ....

Thank you all for the warm welcomes and information. Would there be any sense to hold onto it? Like, maybe for my kids?
