1991 penny with an anomaly on the date and mint mark. Some type of raised ridge running thru the date. There is some rot on the coin. All feedback is appreciated also have a 1984 penny with the same type of ridge will be posted next.

Looks like a plating issue and the beginning of zinc rot. Not doubling.

I'm seeing what appears to a bit of Die Deterioration Doubling on the obverse. Better, closer-in pics on the date and mint mark might (might...) show a hint of split plating.

uploaded photo for possible option, used toothpick to see if plating was raised no effect

It is possible that the die has warped or suffered a heavy polishing from excessive use - I do see DDD around the date area.

Agree, DDD around date. Must be a plating bubble of some sort. Unless, unless...Abe is an Alien!
