So I bought a silver eagle. Not the proof. I had the impression these was bullioncoins? When looking pcgs auctionprices I see for example 94 price listing as 40$ för a ms65? and I guess that many of the coins are in high ms state because they don't circulate .

Or is it a big premium just for the fact that they are graded, even in ms65. I can understand that a 68-70 fetches premium. But most coins must have been in high ms state when they left the mints

Apologize for many noob moments...

Well first off a full coin image of both sides will help us. in the title you state the 1990-S ASE - that would be a proof coin not a bullion. Bullion ASE's will NOT have any MM's on them.
And yes the early high grade coins will pull a bit of a premium.
also most sellers for RAW bullion coins will sell at SPOT + $10 or so. That alone puts the price at about $33.00 then add the slab and the price goes up from there.

I personally see no need to send in bullion coin to a TPG as it is usually a waste of money.

Sorry, lost in translation. I mean Silver eagles released during the 90s.
Just in gereral, I guess there is years with low numbers released. And I agree that its not justifiable to send in for grading. I
So the question is not about mine (its a1992 ordinary release so not much to post). But more a general question.

Perfect now I know, the pcgs-site is tricky,
So spot+ 10 sounds fair, especially since ms65-68 must be available in big numbers. If slabbed maybe more. I find them nice and affordable to collect

Thank you Dearborn

I just current spot prices and saw that silver is up to $27.60 now So, 27.60 (spot) +10 brings it almost up to that $40.00 range that PSCG is quoting...

Any and All American Silver Eagles with a Mint Mark S, are from the San Francisco Mint. All Glory and High Honors go to that Mint for Historically Producing High Quality Proof Products....
