I've looked at the differences but I'm just not good enough to tell the difference. By the shape of the 9 in the date I believe it should be a small date. According to the line on my scope its a large date and I'm of the opinion I have all large dates because that's my luck.

on the 9 the curl that points towards the MM is a large date - the 9 which curls around to point back at the 7 is a small date.

This one curled back more than others did. But it would help if I had one of each in hand to see the actual difference: Pictures from websites just don't cut it for me.
