Is this coin an Incomplete Plating issue, and does it have value? EDIT: I'm new to this forum. For some reason the wrong image kept posting. I edited two different photos to reduce file size and didn't change the file name. .... I apologize for my error. It was unintentional. The current photo is correct. *** Edited by Staff to clarify topic title. Please put as much info in the title as you can, they are very important. ***Edited by CoinMonster 04/09/2024 5:43 pm

I'll wait for the experts. Always looks to me like this effect can be achieved artificially. to the CCF!

Cannot determine what may be happening given the single, close-in image posted.

umm no it is not you reused the same file mane for the 1970 large date on this topic: http://goccf.com/t/462430You should use a different file name for each image you post. Please rename the file for the 2022 cent and re-post If this is the correct image (a 1970 large date, then edit your title to reflect that - not a 2022)

I apologize for the wrong photo upload. Apparently you cannot upload from a folder that is already inside of another folder. It will upload the first image from the master folder.
I moved the proper photo to the correct folder, and it appears to have uploaded properly.
If not, is there any way to delete a post?
I am new to this forum. Please forgive my klutziness ... it's unintentional.

Thanks Dearborn ... that may have been the issue, ... same file name. You have to reduce the size of your photo to under 300kb, and I didn't change the name of the file when downloading the new, edited photo.
I apologize for my error, it's unintentional. I'm new to forums.
I don't know how to reply to specific posts.
Thanks again for the head's up!!

Glad I could help you sort this out.. the file name thing pops up from time to time with the new folks (I did myself) no worries.. the folder where an image lives don't matter just the file name. I'm glad you got your 2 topics sorted out. Now we can get down to business.

Now, what was the business? Oh yeah, the plating on a 2022 cent (imaged up above) it does appear to be a plating issue, but I'm not well versed in this area yet, so somebody will be along soon..

I suspect the plating was scraped off the planchet before the strike ("post-plating, pre-strike damage"). However, closeups would be required to nail down the diagnosis.

Might be Pre-Strike Damage as Mike said.

Keep that coin safe coinmonster. No fingerprints. Put in to a 2x2 until you can get good images of it for Mike. He is well known expert on error coins.
