2014 Arches National Park - Extra Rocks - Die Chip?

tyr4nt Valued Member United States 78 Posts	Posted 04/11/2024 11:06 am I found this quarter a couple weeks ago roll searching with my kids. 2014 Arches National Park quarter with, I believe, a die chip. I believe it's a chip because the rock extends out from the field. It seems like this could be a reasonable explanation for the extra material and that it could occur during the minting process. Aesthetically it is nicely placed to look like a rock and I only found it because I was comparing a few at the same time to choose which to put in a folder. Sometimes I may come off a bit prudish, but we really do try to keep the atmosphere here family-friendly and I'm thinking that adding a scatological reference to the title might be a bit much.
