Suggest removing the coin from the capsule and photograph it under natural, diffused lighting--obverse and reverse. Thanks.

That crescent looking feature on the obverse looks a bit suspect--given the posted pics.

We need large, cropped close-up pics, showing the coin straight-on and not angled and shown in your fingers as here.

I will try again working with just a laptop camera but I felt the same way about the crescent its the exact size of another morgan

Marc, I would suggest you go to YouTube and type in "coin photography'" there are many short videos on how to use your mobil phone to take clear closeup pictures.

I'm not the expert here, but my vote is legit. Color looks like genuine toning to be. Very well could have been coin on top of coin, hence the untoned bit on the obverse and the untoned reverse
