Is this an error of some type or PMD?
The cut area color is the same as the coin, but the angle of the light makes it look like a different shade in the pictures, but it is not. It's the same shade/color as the rest of the coin.

Thoughts?

It's PMD. The circulation wear has smoothed it over.

A lot of these PMD coins look more interesting to me than real mint error coins.

Thanks for sharing your coin with us!! Cheers!

PMD. The obverse at LI looks like it's a little out around.

Dearborn, you may be on to something...the LI is lighter struck.
I'll pop it in a 2x2 flip as a "curiosity".

Thanks everyone for checking this out.

Cujohn, you may be correct in your observation too. I will compare it's roundness to other cents.

Thanks

I have a Dansco album full of post-strike damaged wheat cents--only the more interesting ones. They can be quite interesting.
