I'm very new to this and hope to visit frequently. I've always enjoyed collecting odd coins even if they are just for video games. Anyway, my grandmother gave me a bunch of old coins she's had around for years. This includes two rolls of pennies. One from 1940 and one from 1959. Both appear to be sealed original bank rolls. Not sure what to do with them. Should I keep them as is or crack them open looking for treasures?

I'd keep them as they are and take a couple photos. If they are OBW (original bank wrapped), they are worth a lot of money in the wrapper. The 1940 roll would be worth well over $200 if it's a UNC roll.

Can you post pics?

From what I can see in the pics those look like OBW rolls. The 1940 roll is the one worth good money. The 1959 is a keeper too but not nearly as valuable.

If you're interested in selling them, there are many collectors that purchase OBW rolls.

Agreed, there is certainly a market for them. Just make sure you follow the Rules here at CCF if you ever want to sell.
