Looking to see if I can find out which dates can be found with the obverse die clash 'E' error. I think I have found one back as far as 1920.

There must be a list somewhere but I'll be darned if I can find it. My best luck so far has been going through ebay and marking my date/MM list as I see them.

Just about every date and mint have that clash. If you want to have the best reference book on SLQ's get a copy of Robert H. Knauss book " Standing Liberty quarter varieties and errors" Vol 2nd edition. It has about everything you want to know on the series.

While many dates have the common E at the Knee die clash as stated,
Stronger clashes and off center clashes are less common.

For example here's an E at the knee, M (USofA) underneath, and a few letters from the motto and USofA showing in the skirt that's the strongest clash I've been able to buy on ebay so far.

While there's a continuum of weak to strong on center obverse SLQ clashes, I've been thinking about them as distinct classes based on strength and angle of the clash.

There's the clashes that result in more detail at the bottom, I break into roughly 3 classes.
1. Most common - E at the Knee only.
2. Less common - E + M (USofA), no other letters clearly showing.
3. Even less common - E + M + other letters in skirt

There's also clashes where the clash angle results in more details at the top, like feathers and stars showing above the left shoulder.

Not surprisingly, clash strength and angle can be somewhat independent, although all clashes I've seen so far all have the E at the Knee showing whether the angle biases the clash marks at the bottom, top, or evenly.

Clash marks on the reverse, and off center clashes, bring additional interesting complexity and fun!

I also saw some interesting SLQ clash date info on an ebay ad from a coin company, Consignment Hub, that's keeping track of its clashes in terms of relative numbers from different years.

I know their catalogue of dates is incomplete because I've seen and own some outside this range. Also 200 samples of clashes collected by 1 company is too small and biased a sampling to be definitive, but it's the only attempt at cataloging dates and tracking relative rarity I've seen.

From a consignment hub ebay listing,

"Over the last 15 years we have acquired about 200 pieces of various (clashed "E") dates. Although this Clash may exist for all the years 1916-1930. These are the only years we have discovered or seen.

The Scarcer Years are indicated by a number in parenthesis.  20-s, 23-p(1), 26-ps, 27ps, 28-d(1), 28-s, 29ps, 30ps."
