Was This 1883 Liberty Nickel Polished? Dipped?

I was tempted to bid on this 1883 Liberty nickel, but something looked off to me. I couldn't tell if that was due to the flip or the actual coin. It seems way too bright for that age. Also, despite having a full Liberty, the high points all seem super smooth and gleaming. The stars seem smoother than they should be, too.

Was that coin polished or dipped?

Well, it appears bidding has ended. Looks to me that the coin has been cleaned.

Better images of the coin would have helped with this sale... I see no evidence of cleaning though. But the color does look a bit off..
