Hi! I'm new and would like to see if I have any coins worth taking a closer look at. I've been hit by the coin bug, love to collect for a hobby, and wouldn't stop if I could, lol. I appreciate being here! Thank you. Allioop

Looks like a dirt find. Can you post the dimensions and weight?

Thank you so much for that information! I'm so glad for your response. Now, how do I measured the dimension? I have a little scale somewhere so I can do that I'm pretty sure, but I need help with the dimension. I am very new so forgive my lack of knowledge in this area.

Place it next to a normal cent coin for a size comparison. But, this coin just looks very corroded..

I've just weighed it and it's 2.26g. Compared to a 1995 regular dime which was 2.24g. Laid on bottom, the dark dime is slightly larger by a visible rim. Hope that makes sense...?

Maybe so. I put a comparison up. It sure takes some practice to discern what's real and environmental, etc. I've got a loooong way to go! Grateful to have your input

It is a "dirty dime".

Remember a cent planchet will not fit into the die chamber on a coin press set up for minting dimes.
