Here's a page from Ken Potter's website that clearly shows the differences between the two with pictures. ~ Jim

The one on the right is the small date.

To be honest, the pictures are too small for me to make the determination! If you could provide closeup of the Date on each coin, the we should be able to determine if they are Large or Small Dates. While other use other ways to tell, I use the following: On the Small Date, there is a valley that runs Northeast across the entire junction of the Horizontal bar and the tilted Vertical tail bar. The Large Date does not have this valley, the Horizontal bar usually is thicker, higher in relief in relation to the vertical bar and extends all the way to the right edge of the digit.

It is kind of small but I think the one on the right is the small date also. It looks like the top of the 7 sits even with the 9 and the 0.

I would also say the pictures are difficult to determine, but the small date is the coin on the right....

I agree that the one on the right is the "Small Date"! I copied the pics to my' PC and zoomed in to 100% and could see the other diagnostics. Note on the coin on the left, the tail of the curl in the "9" points towards the "S" Mintmark, while the on the coin on the right, the tail of the curl of the "9" points towards the "7" in the Date.
