There is only one Denver mint listed so far. You might check the markers on the images to see if your coin is from the same die pair. The difference would probably be the difference in mint mark location, which your coin looks like it's not the same location at the one on the site. http://varietyvista.com/1988DRDV006%20cent.htmYour mint mark looks further south than the one on that site. Nice find! Maybe a new find also.

The mint mark does seem a little further south and east then the one listed, however it still is bearing a reverse design intended for coinage beginning in the year 1989.

colleen: If I may, I would suggest that you e mail jameswiles@sbcglobal.net and send him pictures of your coin & tell him of your find! ( his e mail address is at the bottom of the Variety Vista.com page that coop has highlighed for you). Your coin will be only the second 1988D- RDV -006 found whether its from the same die or not. Great find! Congrats again.

Hi Colleen: IMHO- I would get your 1988D RDV-006 slabbed and attributed. Reason being- as of now, less than 2 dozen of the 1988P- RDV -006 have been documented as far as I know, now thats rare!, but your coin the 1988D RDV-006-,depending on who you want to believe, its either 2 and no more than maybe 4 or 5 of the "D" have been found - to me, that's Super Rare!, plus after Mr Wiles is finished examining your coin and if he determines that its also from a different die- than without a doubt get it slabbed as it would be the only "D" so far from that particular die. I could be wrong, but I believe that "ANACS" & ICG will slab and attribute this for you - NGC and PCGS at this time I do not believe they would attribute it. I know you mentioned "Dominion"- I don't know anything about them. The decision is your's, but since you asked, that's my own thoughts on it

well the only reason I said dominion is that somebody that is very will respected on here is going to be grading from them. and he has been very helpful and knowledgeable so I fill comfortable going with them.

That's fine!
Bottom line:
If it were my coin- I would have it slabbed and attributed.
Good Luck!
