I can't see the surfaces clearly to judge them. Photos are out of focus but does appear to show MS crispness.

I'm concerned about what's going on with the spotty black looking toning. Is it toning?

Obverse field by the gold pan, obverse field at 3:00 position, along the silhouette of the obverse figure, along the silhouette of the bear, etc.

Can you tell us what that is?

Looks like toning to me in those areas. I don't have the coin yet in hand. Looked at several MS coins sold on e-bay that had more prominent spotting and toning also.

When you receive the coin take some in focus photos and post them for us to see.

While there appears to be remaining luster, my eyes see a coin that has been mechanically cleaned to remove its black toning. I see multiple straight line scratches in the fields that lead me to think this way.

I would suggest a grade of AU-Details. Of course, my opinion is based on the provided images and might change with in-hand inspection. Updated/sharper images would definitely help.

Your Not Alone COMMEMS.....From the Pictures supplied, I See,

Fields are Streaky with apparent abrasion marks, from Manually Applying Effort, To Clean, Also The Necrotic Blemishes are NOT a Good Sign, ( Blackened ).

PS, For a San Francisco Struck Coin, Not clearly seen Here......

a good move jerry (on the canceled sale) the only areas where I can see most of the black 'toning' are where the devices rise up off the fields - probably couldn't get into the nooks and crannies when it was cleaned.
