Over the few years that I have collected coins, I have only purchased various coins from different denominations, and different series that I saw, and liked. Now, I am ready to commit to putting a set together. I like most American Coinage, and would like to know what sets do you collect, how much of the set have you completed, how long has it taken you, pros and cons of collecting that series, how much does it cost, and your overall opinion on that series that you have collected, or attempted to collect. Thanks

Start easy, Kennedy halves, Washington quarters 1932 to 1998, Cents, Roosevelt dimes. They are readily available and reasonable as far as price goes, but that all depends on condition of the coins. Other than that...as the old saying goes, collect what you like and have fun.

i agree with acidic1 I put together circulated sets of Roosevelt dimes and Jefferson nickels and it was fun. I got most of the Jefferson nickels from rolls so that is a fun way to build that set.

now I have moved to lincoln wheat cents and I have most of them. all of them are in fine or better condition but the bad part now is I have hit a wall because I cant afford the key dates at this time.

that is the only con I see with lincolns once you get to the keys they can be a little expensive. I dont see no cons with collecting Roosevelt dimes and Jefferson nickels from circulation.
