It had a dull reverse and a problematic obverse. So now I dipped the back since its not a valuable coin. But only halfhearted since I dont want to remove the toning on the front because a like it.so I had to dip carefully. But atleast the reverse is more pleasing to the eye. So now I can enjoy looking on this coin even If its not a gem.and it serves as a reminder Report this Post to the Staff

panzaldi Bedrock of the Community United States 18706 Posts	Posted 08/30/2025 08:30 am i know you are attempting to show us the "reflective surfaces" by angling the coin. thats not helping. all we need in most cases is a straight on shot full cropped image unless asked for. Can they still be like mirrors if surface is removed with cleaning? No and your coin is not exhibiting mirror like surfaces. its lighting. the coin was dipped and then the chemical had not been washed properly. it was then improperly stored for quite a while resulting in the mottled toning. add improperly handled to that also with the fingerprints.
