Found this in my collection looking for some trader coins. Looks like a lot of the braid and ribbon details are missing and most of the neck details. Is this a grease filled or over polished die coin or something else?

Classic overpolished dies, those are areas of the shallowest relief so they are the first to go when the die is heavily polished.

This isn't the same year, but you might get an idea what happens during a clash with a Nickel die pair.

The neck line and ribbon may have suffered due to a clash remove cleaning/polishing leaving the devices weakened on you coin. This happens when they want to cover a clash.

Thanks Guys, wow now is I can find the clash like that one. Wonder if I look closer if I can see any of the remains of a clash.

That is just an overlay to compare where the dies could be positioned during a clash. There is one clash that is the strongest I have ever seen and it is on a Nickel. You might like to take a peek.

Very interesting. Is a die clash when the two sides hit together without a blank in the middle and leave an imprint on each other? Never seen that before.
