Error-Or-Post-Mint-Damage?

I don't have the greatest camera, sorry, but one side of the coin has a bunch of tiny crater-like holes and the metal is a different color around all the lettering. Curious as to what could have caused this.

Some sort of transparent gunk.
Give it a long soak in pure acetone.

I'd call that a spender.

Yes, appears to be post-strike damage. A soak in 100% acetone may reduce or eliminate the issue. Does the reverse look the same or different?

@Coinmeg - A good soak in acetone might help, but I doubt it. Environmental damage and appears some Coin Wrapping Machine Damage.

Here is the other side. It has the same holes. I did clean the coin and there is no residue or anything on it. Either way I'll probably keep it just because I like how the queen kinda looks like a zombie, it's interesting.

To CCF! It's PMD. Maybe some kind of gunk, maybe glue?
