The coins roll into the pad printer in random orientation. This is why the colour is a "ring", rather than a more specifically shaped pattern whose orientation would be important in terms of the actual applying of the paint. Having one specific orientation be considered "correct" would be arbitrary.
GIven the random nature of the alignment, I don't see why a "correct" orientation would attract a premium, any more than an "incorrect" one would be considered an "error". Of course, it's probably not too hard to find people on ebay and Co claiming otherwise.
Coinfrog: here's a coin dealer website that's using the Mint's own computer-generated artwork on what the coins should look like; the RAM artwork shows the green-and-yellow colour pattern "right way up" compared to the rest of the coin design, as Sally states. In reality, the paint isn't anywhere near as clear and uniform. I've see these coins in circulation and I'd just assumed the green and gold were random blotches and not intended as a kangaroo-and-emu pattern.

Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
