I new to collecting also my knowledge on identifying errors is minimal. This 2013 Maryland Fort McHenry quarter on the front side appears to me that there wasn't enough material to fill the die when stamped, the head has no definition on hair, my other thought is grease on die? On the rim of coin there is a slick surface on the copper color area? On the back side of coin the area around the die stamp is also not like the other 2013 Maryland Fort McHenry quarters. Please help with identifying this coins appearance and help with what may have caused this Thank you
The reeded edge are worn nearly flat and smooth - indicating mechanical damage, maybe an early Dryer Coin or possibly spooned. the rims have struck up properly but there is a lot of scrapes on the obverse. this tells me that it is a damaged coin.
