I have had this old copper half penny laying around here for awhile now,, it appeared dateless,,

Well it certianly doent have a clear date,but there is a date on it !!

what date do you see?

Well I am not sure and I dont have time to run it thru my image processor but I can make out a few of the numbers....873?1873? Am I close?LOL

I see a 1-28 LOL I'm trying to decide if the second number is a 5 or an 8 .

It doesn't really matter the coin is basically valueless,, but I like guessing games !!

I can't make out any of the numbers!

Eyesight. That and memory, the second and third things to go when you get older!

Don't blame your eyes Gary, I can see the number of a bus when it's on the previous stop, but all I can get out of this coin is a 3-like thing:)

I have just joined Gary in the old eyes department.

I think I can make out a 3 at the end but thats about it.

I did some editing to the photo and the second number looks like maybe a "5" to me and the last number a "3" here is the pictures and I outlined the second one to show where I see the numbers. Remember I could be wrong and it could be my eyes playing tricks but thats what it looks like to me. Here are the edited pictures

have u tried holding the coin at various angels? I have a 1920 Buffalo nickel I thought was dateless but then after holding it at different angles I could read the date perfectly

?28 0r ?78 try putting a piece of paper on the coin and lightley go over the area with a pencil an see if you can get an etching or imprint of the date it sometimes works
