I desperately want to call this one genuine and add it to my collection, but there is the small problem of an obverse test spot at 3 o'clock showing blue. At 10 o'clock above 'X'III also blue and looks like to me like a repair to a casting where the metal was poured in. Tell me I'm hallucinating and that this coin appears genuine. I'm dubious about that being a casting mark, but an edge shot in that region would be super-helpful. Sap Moderator Australia 16810 Posts	Posted 05/28/2024 7:17 pm The black spot on the rim above the XIII looks more like a corrosion spot than a casting sprue to me. There seems to be other patches of cleaned-up corrosion (around the POR on obverse and the N of ESPANA on the reverse). Silver shouldn't "corrode" under normal conditions, so perhaps it's fire damage that's been mostly cleaned up, except for a couple of stubborn patches? Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis Report this Post to the Staff

I tried making edge photos for you. Also, any thoughts on that acid test blue spot? I was always under the notion it points to a nickel coin. And thanks Sap, for your thoughts as well.
