Hi,

I have got the following £2 in my change today, it looks like the reverse was stamped on obverse.

I hope it is a legitimate error as I have never received one in my change.

Looks like a brockage of some form - the error specialists should be able to give you more. They would be best for valuation too as the error market is very fickle.
With that head it should not be 1997. The Queen's bust is younger and has a necklace for 1997. Can you post a pick of the reverse?

Clashed dies? The Queen's portrait on these coins is usually quite weakly struck, and the reverse strike is usually strong, so I can imagine that a clash would leave quite an impression on the obverse die.
