Lincoln always would hold on to his lapel of his coats in many pictures . So I found this penny to be odd . Would the coin have to be still warm when damaged since the piece is still attached to where the damage is ? Any opinions welcome as long as they are serious . Thank you. #129303;#129782;#127996;#10024;

Looks like damage, but much sharper images needed - this is almost worthless.

Better images would be useful. Please include a pic of the reverse. At this point (without other pics) I'd be thiking post-strike damage.

Welcome, Interesting for sure. My second thought is the same as my first thought, a Retained Struck-Through of some sort. Weight? Thanks, Doug.

to the CCF!

It looks like the coin has a lamination fold. The metal on the vest would fit like a puzzle piece into the missing area of detail.

Please try for a clear image of both side of the coin.

You won't get much help, if you cannot provide better images - we try, but there is only so much we can do or say. Remember, you have the coin in hand, we don't and are forced to go by what you present to us.
