Last month, I picked up this die clash on ebay for a few bucks. For a recent coin, it's a really strong and unique looking clash. After a few failed attempts at imaging it, I set it aside. I am going to post the seller's best pic, just so folks can take a look. Maybe one of you will encounter one during a coin roll hunt.
Anybody who has a good tip on photographing a die clash like this one, I am all ears. I don't have an axial box that fits the quarter, and just taking a picture of the coin really doesn't show the clash well.
I guess I should clarify: it was sold as a die clash in the US Error Coin section of ebay. No particular virtue of my own here. I just ponied up a few bucks to buy it because I thought it was cool.
Nice acquisition, Brand! I have had the best luck due totally to the direction of lighting. It's about the lighting and having the coin tilted in the right direction. I usually have to take multiple pics before figuring it out.
