Got a new setup for taking photos. Picked this up yesterday, looks like it has a finger print on the reverse. Thoughts on grade?

everything up to 1886 had decent strikes at NO. this one is better thn you normally see for the year with nice feather definition as well as detail around the ear. I would call it sharply struck and adds a little to the coin. the shadowing on the obv photo is obscuring the lower half of the coin so I can't see the surfaces and luster in that area. I agree with the fingerprint. these do not affect grade but may affect value of the coin. there are field scratches in the obv right field and some chatter in the left field but I can't tell if anything is going on with the cheek. field scratches above the motto as well.

could be as high as MS64. if you can retake an obv photo i'll be glad to reassess it. just make sure the lighting is not overdone but still show the entire coin without shadows. multiple angles of lighting may help

The fingerprint is unfortunate but at least it's on the reverse. I'm at MS63.

That is a nice 81-O. Great contrast, semi-pl looking. I put it at MS-63
