The die scratches match up perfectly. Looks like LDS. The separation lines in the date are almost gone, but the spread is there. Find or pick?

Quote: I don't see doubling on the date. please help me understand what I should see. In the Coin World a fat device is considered a double die. Not sure why

Jasper62.. Not only is the date "fat", the sheriffs on the bottom of the nines are split.

Definitely FS-101, nice find! Are the closeup reverse photos of the same coin? Looks to be a typical Class II DDR.

Yes, it's the same coin. My first thought was that the cent was a DDR as well, but I didn't want to push my luck. The IGWT is a great marker in my opinion. Thanks

Yeah FS-101 isn't known to be paired with a DDR, but that certainly looks like a DDR to my eye. I imagine Dan Griffin would like to take a look at this one sometime.

I have been watching this thread and debating whether it is a DDR. Seems like devices are not enlarged, but the direction, and particularly the UNI, seem very much like a DDR. Very interesting coin. I am currently in the field catching bats so can't compare things to my collection. Looks promising, but no way to verify things while away.bb

Very interesting and promising. I had noticed the apparent notching on the reverse as well. VV has no images of the reverse, CC has some, but none showing doubling, and DD has a die gouge almost touching the bottom right side of the "E" of AMERICA, which I don't see in these images. https://www.doubleddie.com/344622.htmlThe reverse images of this coin seem to show a very early die state coin with no die flow lines.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

I appreciate all the comments. Looks like I need to continue reviewing the "possibilities" of this coin being a DDR as well as a DDO. CCF is the best!!!! Thanks
