I was pleasantly surprised after filing a prohibited listing practice report on ebay and getting back a message the item was removed today. I referred specifically to the US code section that makes counterfeiting of US coinage illegal. I don't know if that made a difference or not.

I agree no ebay coin sellers from China or HK, unless they are members of a major Numismatic organization, ie ANA . Would be pretty easy to do . Then the CPB can enforce another Issue. No coin imports from China.

This is a note that accompanies Chinese lots offered in Stacks and Heritage Hong Kong auctions NOTE: This lot was manufactured in China and was sourced from outside the United States for this auction after September 1, 2019. Under the new US tariffs on Chinese goods, collector's items from China will be subject to a 7.5% import tariff. Any clients who wish to take delivery of this item in the United States should be aware of this added charge, and consult their tax adviser with any questions. I would say this would cover all collectibles being sold on ebay originating from China and Hong Kong and would be very easy for ebay to enforce. It might put a dent in all the nefarious numismatic forgeries and junk coming from China/HK.

Quote: Fake slab? Are all 14 holders of this type being offered by this seller suspect, or just this one?

After some digging, it seems like "CIRCULATED" is an acceptable NGC designation, for bulk submitters who do not want a grade but just an opinion on authenticity. Still, the cert number does not turn up anything on NGC Verify.
