Hello, as a newbie, I'm glad to be a part of this community, lots of info! I have this 1892-S Morgan I am thinking of getting graded. I wanted to ask what some might think about this coin, seems the mint mark is off to the right some, what do y'all think? Thanks in advance!

Based on the pics, I'll throw out a VF20. Can you enhance the pic quality?

I'll say VF. Not worth getting it slabbed.

Enjoy what you have but it would not be worthwhile to have this graded as the cost would never be recovered.

The 92S is a semi key, but only in MS grades. From the photos, this specimen appears to be cleaned, and not worthy of submitting to a TPG. Likely it will grade as a details coin. VF would be generous for a grade. The MM is legit.

Thanks for the replies, not sure why the pics came out so shiny. Here are other pics, but I will probably just keep them for now and revisit them in a few decades lol.

the new photos look like they represent the in-hand look of the coin better. I think the coin could be in the XF area possibly as high as 45

if it graded XF45 straight youre looking at about $600 for an XF40 maybe $475

the decision is if it doesn't straight grade the cost of grading is way to high. consider PCGS charges a $69 subscription fee, $23 grading fee then postage and ins both ways. if the coin detailed then the grading costs would chew up most of the value of the coin.

do to the lighting and small photos I can't determine if it would in fact grade straight. from what I see it is possible

[edit] - I would give it an acetone soak just to remove anything from the surfaces then I would get an airtite holder for it if you decide not to send it in. if you want to slab it I would use either PCGS or NGC. I think PCGS is a little more strict but their coins tend to get a premium. NGC is a little less expensive. since I really don't slab I'm not sure which one is better for silver dollars

Looks like it might be an EF-45.
