I think the creator of this die ran off a bunch of normal strike coins and then decided to make a fake 'error' of this rare variety. I wonder how many thousands of dollars have been (and will be) lost by new collectors thinking they had a double whammy of a coin. Dearborn Moderator United States 96071 Posts	Posted 07/01/2024 6:18 pm yep, not once have I ever seen an off center 1955 doubled die - but I have seen many fakes (add one more) There are several ways to tell real from fakes - my go to is that the date and IGWT are rotated CCW and Liberty is rotated CW. Also on the real one the bust is also doubled. This one is not. Collecting since 1972. Learning from then on "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember.
