1943 Lincoln Wheat Steel - Replating Issue?

Sannys25 Valued Member United States 145 Posts	Posted 07/02/2024 4:59 pm Question for everyone - This "Melted" look on the date and liberty - is this when a cent was/is replated /repurposed and an issue occurred? I do not think this is a PMD issue because I have Two Cents that look the exact same (die crack locations and etc). I don't see the right markers for it to be a double die either. HGK3 Pillar of the Community United States 572 Posts	Posted 07/02/2024 7:20 pm On the obverse I see rubbing/flattening/circulation wear above the ear, on the eyebrow, the shoulder and lapel. On the reverse, on the wheat seeds seem worn also. Hard to find that much circulation wear with no signs of the original zinc plating rubbing off, so I'm on team replated.
