i have bought a few albums to start making more dime sets. I noticed just now as I sat down to fill some in that there is only one space available for 2001. But there were 2 different dimes released for that year. The 2001P and then the volunteer dime as well. Which dime would all of you consider to be the proper one to include with a set to be considered a complete set?
thanks malissa

Hi, malissadawn, I would try to include both, but as you know the 2001P is the kind of "rare" one, with less mintage. With only 46,265,000 struck.

Malissadawn,
Which album brand are you using ?
I had a similar problem with the Uni-Safe album for 1 cent Candidan coins. They had no spot for the 1947 maple leaf. You would think someone would check out all the coin slots. I simply added my 1947ML and move all the other coins over one spot.
Both the Blue Nose and Volunteer dimes are business strikes for 2001 and should be both included in a dimes collection

You know, its issues like that is why I prefer 2 x 2's and then those are put into albums. What if you ever came across a great deal on a single 2001 proof coin, or a unique or rare variety. You would never be able to stratigically slot and showcase it in your album properly. I just don't find that having a lettered and previously stamped album indicating what goes where, an indicator if you collection is complete or not. On another note...good luck with your collection.I have a 2001P and I found it in my change, so it shouldnt be too difficult of a hunt.

I have a microsoft word template that I made for unisafe albums. You just fill in the blanks, print and cut. The real trick, however is you have to have a paper cutter/trimmer/guillotine to cut the template into neat strips... I would be happy to share it with anybody who want's it.

Yeah, that's all I did with mine -- include both and move everything over one pocket. This is a typical problem with the Uni-Safe stuff, as will be seen by the two individuals I sent stuff out to last week will see.
Perhaps a letter to the Uni-Safe people might be in order.

canadianian, thats great< I played around with the same idea for the Guardmaster that have numeros omissions and a couple of errors, like in the 25 cent they have a spot for 3 in 92 I think and there are only 2. I have not had any luck in printing any thing that formats properly [ I suck on excell] I have often thought that someone with skill should format back sheets for both so one can edit them for the different size pockets they offer. And what would be even better would be an area behind the coin where one could input the mintage, grade, notes and values and or illustrations of varieties. I have promissed to do this for myself someday when I find the time. In the meantime if anybody is ambitious feel free and don't forget to share. In the mean time one of those brother label makers works pretty good for 2x2s and for titles for coins not represented in the albums. This would also allow for the deletion of certain coins that are included in some albums that one would never put in because they are to rare.

I dunno.Theres something about utilizing an album where you need to 'fill in the blanks' that doesn't appeal to me. Your bound by their leads of what you can put in it, and they don't allow for new varities that may be identified down the road. I much prefer 2 x 2's in a two by two album in which you can shift things around at will. Its nice personalizing the 2 x 2's with your own handwriting with any specifics. To each his own

2X2s are much easier to arrange and you can personalize your collection as you wish. That's just my opinion. everybody has their own preference.

I go through my wife's tips every night, and I get pretty much even amounts of te 2001P and the 'Year of the Volunteer' version. Make them both fit. Quote: likee in the 25 cent they have a spot for 3 in 92 I think and there are only 2.
I don't think it was '92, as there was only 13 different types (14 if you count the 180 deg. rotated die error)

Sorry my mistake it was 2002 in the Guardmaster album that has the extra spot. I thought it was for the colourised version but there is no similar spot after this one year.
