I use VC extensively and it does an amazing job on most coins. IMHO, for this coin, VC chems are not at issue. But the removal of VC is - I would be concerned of breaking that nice-looking, consistent skin that lies underneath the build-up. If I was processing this coin I'd be more inclined to give it a 30 minute bath in 1-2% Sodium Sesquicarbonate solution. Then roll a large camel hair brush over the surfaces while still submerged. Baking Soda/Distilled Water dunk to neutralize and then a final Acetone phase.

I do not see any prior cleaning on this one.
I swing a metal detector and have a knack for finding dirty old coins.
