bg_in_oc Valued Member United States 456 Posts	Posted 10/29/2024 12:19 am There is one rare 2000P Sacagawea dollar, I decided not to break the slab and put that coin in my Dansco album. Following the introduction of Glenna Goodacre's obverse design for America's Sacagawea "golden" dollar in year 2000, she accepted her $5000 commission in the form of "sacks of golden dollar". Instead of giving her circulation-quality coins, U.S. Mint struck 5000 specially prepared presentation pieces. Goodacre sold large group of those coins but kept 2000. In 2010, she sold 1900 remaining coins to a major coin dealer. Each of those coins were recertified by PCGS then sealed with a special insert attesting to their presentation pedigree. Under a special arrangement, Philip Diehl personally signed each insert. He was the director of U.S. Mint when those coins were struck, and he originally presented the coins to Goodacre.
