The mark at "T" looks like a hit/PMD with moved metal showing.

No observable damage - I suppose you are not counting the damage on the 'T'.

Can you provide an edge on image of this coin with a 'normal' coin next to it for us?

The T took a hit. That's PMD. Your coin is light, so it must have been struck on a Rolled Thin Planchet.

Hit on the rim and pushed metal on the T. Just a damaged coin.There may have been a die crack from S to T.

I'm thinking rolled thin, for starters. Perhaps moved metal on a glancing rim hit above T (last T in TRUST).

Going further, a long soak in 100% acetone might reduce some of that filmy gunk.
