Is This A Die Crack Or PMD? - Coin Community Forum

livingwater Pillar of the Community United States 2219 Posts	Posted 07/11/2024 8:52 pm When a die is cracked it creates a void, during striking the metal flows up into the crack. This makes the crack on the coin raised, above the surface. It looks like your area is recessed, not raised, so it's PMD at least to my eyes. But close up pics could prove me wrong.
