Does anyone know if there are any errors or varieties for the 2009-D Cabin Cent . Just got a box of them and would like to know what to look for.

I think there are a few die cracks along the initials... but are those errors?

No, a die crack is not an error, contrary to what sellers on ebay would say.

There are possible die cracks on those in more than one location. Look on the reverse around 8 o'clock...through the designer initials and proceeding in a Southeast direction from that area. Also, check out straight across from there in 4 o'clock area.

Oh, interestingly, the first 2009-P I picked up had the first die crack I mentioned.

Went through my first roll and they are covered with water spots. They are also kinda weakly struck, the typical poor quality the mint has been putting out lately IMHO. No die cracks on them.

I finally found my first Cabin last night and boy, John1 sure is right. I was not at all impressed. The designed looks *BLAH*, and the whole feel of it felt cheap.

I believe that this is the last of the Lincolns anyway. It takes 2 cents to make one cent and to all of you Lincoln lovers, I'm sorry, but that's just plain stupid. But I sure would miss them, though....

The design process for the 2010 cent is well under way...it has been narrowed down to a list of candidates.

I've seen the one they are going to use. Poor choice in my opinion. They look as hokey as the State Quarter reverses. I like my design better.

MacMan: I wish the images were larger of the clash. Here is what an overlay looks like for that coin.
