Upon arrival, the reverse looks much different..very frustrating!

Yeah, "much" is a nice way of putting it. Why do people doctor their photos when selling coins? They're just going to be getting the coin returned back to them!

before seeing the in-hand photo I had it at AU details ( PMD) probably improper storage

To me, the reverse was ED or some sort of staining all day long, based on the first photos posted. Hopefully you can return it.
