Any clue as to what kind of mint error this could be? New to the numismatics world. Please and thank you!

To CCF! This coin has been cut by force. Just PMD. Not an error. Also a Vise Job, on the reverse. The backwards impressions give it away. If it was actually Double Struck, the letters wouldn't be backwards. Just a badly damaged cent.

Also, you posted in the wrong forum. This should be in the U.S. Modern Variety and Error forum, not the U.S. Classic and Colonial Variety and Error Coins forum. I'll request the mods to move it to the correct forum for better attention.

Coinenthusiast64.
I agree with the group. This one is definitely not mint damaged. Looks like someone stuck it in a vice and broke it by hand. Have a good day. ErrorsRCool.

Yes, vicious post-strike damage. Save it as a fun curiosity.

I agree with the others, definitely damaged. That said, I've always liked to save severely damaged coins. I'm not really sure why I save them, but some of those I have are pretty torn up.

I also save any severely damaged coins that I find, maybe it keeps me from
trying to damage any additional coins myself.

The first pic reminds me of the movie The Langoliers.
