I bought a scale and have been going through my finds checking weight. Why would my nickel be .24 grams heavier than it's supposed to be. Is that normal? New to coins, have been collecting stamps for many years. I can't find anything on this topic for this coin.
Any help/ suggestions would be much appreciated

Take in account the tolerance is +/- 0.194 grams. Does the reverse look the same as the obverse? Couldn't say for sure, but seems something maybe on the obverse side, which appears to be wearing off of the high points. Seems to be part hazy and part shiny. Thanks, Doug.

Edit: Left out the Welcome!

Now that you mention it,it does kinda have that dried Elmers Glue look to it.
Also, always best to post obverse and reverse photos.

I finally got pictures of the back and the thickness of the coin. Let me know if this gives you any more clues. I am pretty lame when it comes to anything computerish, so if the pics don't come through, please view my profile. They are uploaded in there.
